Description: The Guest Services volunteer supports Adoptions and Client Services staff, mainly in the front lobby of the Companion Animal Shelter. Guest Services volunteers assist staff by greeting and directing the flow of visitors through PAWS’ lobby during hours we are open to the public. They help keep things organized and keep the overall flow of guests moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet incoming visitors and clients.
- Direct the flow of traffic through the front lobby to the animal viewing areas or notify Client Services of an incoming stray.
- Receive in-kind donations and assist guests with completing donation forms.
- Direct Wildlife clients to Snohomish campus.
- Assist the public with questions.
- Keep the retail area stocked and organized.
- Tidy and sanitize counters, doorknobs and other common surfaces in the Lobby.
- Organize, sort, and file paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Must live in the greater Seattle area (including King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties).
- Must be able to practice safe animal handling.
- Must have customer service skills and the ability to professionally represent PAWS policies when interacting with the public.
- Must be able to work independently and be receptive to feedback from staff.
- Must be able to bend and lift.
- May be exposed to cleaning agents.
Time Commitment: Once a week for a minimum of three months.
Required Training: Volunteer Orientation, CAS Info Session, On-the-Job Training
