Meet Claudia

Writing about the bonds between people and pets.

During the school year, PAWS educators are busy in the classroom, teaching our six-week program, Kids Who CareSM, to 4th graders across south Snohomish county. Lucky for us, Claudia participated in Kids Who CareSM at Picnic Point Elementary!

One of Claudia’s school assignments was to write an essay about a topic of her choosing. She chose to tell the story of how her family adopted their cat from PAWS! Her favorite part of doing this project was doing the actual writing “because I love writing and getting to share the story about how we adopted our cat!” Claudia understands that the connection between humans and animals can be very special, and hopes her story raises awareness of that bond.

When asked what advice she gives to other kids like her that want to help the animals, she said, “Do your research and make sure you know what taking care of an animal entails. If you can’t adopt, think about ways you can help.” Whether this takes the form of volunteering, fundraising, or a project for the animals, we love seeing people get involved for the good of the animals!
