Green Heron

Green Herons are found throughout the Seattle area in the summer, but as they are smaller and more secretive, many don’t notice them in our nearby wetlands. This patient arrived from Issaquah with a fractured tibiotarsus (bone in the leg) and pelvis. Our veterinary team conducted orthopedic surgery to repair the fractured tibiotarsus. The surgery was a success, and the heron is now walking great. He is making progressive strides towards full recovery!
