PAWSwalk: Youth Edition

April 16, 2021

This spring, youth of all ages are invited to join us for PAWSwalk: Youth Edition, brought to you by VCA Animal Hospitals.

What is PAWSwalk?

For 30 years, PAWS has been bringing our community together to promote a sense of wellness as we raise funds so thousands of animals can have a second chance at a happy, healthy life. Now, we are expanding the event to include youth with PAWSwalk: Youth Edition. Together, we will exercise our hearts for animals and raise funds so cats, dogs and wild animals can get the critical care they need to go home and thrive.

Who can participate?

Any youth in your life can participate in PAWSwalk. They can be students in your classroom, your Scout troop, or your child at home looking for a way to help the cats, dogs and wildlife at PAWS.

When is PAWSwalk?

PAWSwalk will take place from May 23rd through June 12th, 2021. Youth and adults are invited to participate during all three weeks.

What are the options for participating in PAWSwalk?

There are three ways that youth can participate in PAWSwalk this year!

  1. Register and fundraise! Register and start fundraising as an individual youth or make a team with friends. By registering and fundraising, you are directly supporting PAWS’ life-saving work.
  2. Walk miles and change lives! For every mile a youth walks and logs during the three-week event, a generous sponsor will donate $1 to the animals at PAWS.
  3. Participate in weekly youth PAWSwalk challenges! Each week during the 21-day event, youth can complete a PAWSwalk wellness challenge. For each youth challenge completed, a generous sponsor will donate $5 to help the animals at PAWS.

By participating in PAWSwalk, youth can make a difference in the lives of thousands of cats, dogs and wildlife in need. Youth can help animals without asking anyone for donations, thanks to our generous sponsors who will donate based on the miles walked and challenges completed.

There will be prizes for the top achievers:

Top Class: The class of students that completes the most PAWSwalk youth challenges.
Top Youth Walker: The youth (under age 16) who walks the most miles.
Top Youth Fundraiser: The youth (under age 16) who registers for PAWSwalk and raises the most money.
