PAWS Education is excited to meet you whether that be for a program in your school, at PAWS, or in the community. We are a small but mighty team and can’t wait to work with you!
Gabe Seawall | Associate Director of Education

Gabe joined PAWS in early 2026 as the Associate Director of Education, where he leads the organization’s education efforts and works to expand how people connect with animal welfare and conservation. Before coming to PAWS, Gabe was a part of the team at Woodland Park Zoo, where he helped develop animal programs within the ambassador animal team. Prior to that, he also worked at St. Louis Aquarium, Binder Park Zoo, and Cosley Zoo, where he led the delivery of education programs and oversaw the animal training and behavior management of his areas. As a co-founder of the Psittacine Welfare Institute, a nonprofit focused on advancing parrot welfare, he has spent his career dedicated to the improvement of animal welfare: companion and wildlife alike. At PAWS, Gabe is focused on building education programs that are approachable, relevant, and rooted in real-world connections – helping people better understand animals and feel empowered to make a difference. He is joined at home by his family, which includes three rescued animals: a dog, a cat, and an African grey parrot.
Alex Huylar | PAWS Education Coordinator

Alex first joined PAWS as a volunteer back in January 2018, spending her time fostering pets and walking dogs. Her love for animals only grew from there, and in September 2024, she officially joined the PAWS team. Alex graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Public Relations and later earned a master’s in Elementary Education. After more than six years of teaching in the Mukilteo and Everett school districts, she is excited to bring humane education to the community, hoping to inspire kids (and adults!) to deepen their compassion, respect, and care for animals and our planet. At home, Alex and her husband stay busy with their two lovable dogs, Frank, and Otis.

Meredith first joined PAWS in August 2025 as a Wildlife Care Assistant at the Wildlife Center in Snohomish, WA. During this time, she fell in love with PAWS and our mission and decided to formally join the team as an Educator in November 2025. Meredith holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a minor in Film from Fordham University. During her time at Fordham, she conducted ecological research and studied animal behavior and conservation. Moreover, she has experience teaching at the Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, and Waste Management. Meredith is passionate about environmental conservation and animal welfare and loves to share this passion with others as an educator. She believes that one of the best ways to encourage positive change is through education; after all, she attributes her dedication to animal welfare to a project she was assigned in middle school. Meredith was born and raised in Seattle, WA and loves to enjoy all the nature the city has to offer with her dog, Cooper.
