Ali is a sweet little soul who is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where she can take things slow to connect with her person (or people - and maybe even a friendly cat friend or two!) She takes time to trust and build her confidence - but is definitely worth the wait!
The hustle and bustle of shelter life was really overwhelming for her and her brother, Noodles, so they have been in our foster program to get some extra time, love and patience in a quiet home environment as we get to know them. Noodles heartbreakingly passed away a few months ago, so our sweet Ali girl has been navigating extra levels of challenge, grief, and change this year, and we are looking for a really special home for her to land.
Her foster parent says: "Sweet Ali kitty was very nervous and shy at first, and it took time for her to feel more comfortable at home. However, now that Ali is feeling safe with me, it's been so rewarding and special to get to learn all the things she loves - wrestling with catnip toys, chasing after Da Bird wand, playing "stick-under-rug" to show me her hunting prowess and silly pounces, and of course - her most favorite activity of all - churu treat time!
She isn't a kitty who actively seeks out pets very often - that being said, she chooses to be in close proximity and will give the most loving slow blinks and sweet little check ins and finger sniffs. She is absolutely adorable, and shows off her many silly antics. And with time (much time), she will let you know when she is ready for a few gentle cheek scritches!
She has shown interest in my resident cats (despite their silly hisses towards her) and I do think she would do really well with a respectful cat-social cat friend to be with (especially if they like to play) as long as they were introduced slowly. She's an expert level hider (ask me how I know), and skittish before she knows you well, so her ideal adopter will need to be committed to keeping her in one room first (and kitty-proofing it!) for at least 1-2 months to really help her acclimate to that space and befriend you before then gradually expanding her access to the rest of the home".
Ali is seeking someone who can give her the time & space to adjust, and patience, love, & understanding that she needs to feel safe, build trust and confidence, and let her sweet soul shine. Our PAWS team is happy and committed to provide guidance and post-adoption support to help along the way as Ali and her new family get to know each other and build up that trust together!
Since she is still very shy and nervous when first meeting new visitors, she may first be available for a virtual "Zoom" visit so you can watch her interact with her current foster parent to see how she is with someone she's been building trust with.
