The Penny Plunge
I saw her on the website looking nervous yet adorable, so I just had to meet her. The staff told me more about her and explained that while she does warm up to people, she was clearly uncertain about what was going on. She was extremely shy during our first visit and a bit better on the second, but I knew I wanted to give her a home where she felt safe and happy—so we took the plunge!
Penny looooves belly rubs, and if I’m standing, she’ll ask for one by running up to me and putting a paw on my arm or leg. Then she squats upright to enjoy the scritches and will stay that way for as long as I keep scratching!
She’s also trying very hard to make friends with her kitty siblings. Some attempts to sniff and/or play are more successful than others, but she’s been very good about respecting boundaries when the cats say no (or she’s just a scaredy dog—but that works too!).
