Program FAQs

What times are PAWS education programs available?

Most programs are generally available Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Registration is handled on a first come, first served basis. Our programs often fill three to six months in advance, so please plan ahead when scheduling your class or group.

Does PAWS charge fees for education programs?

For most education programs at PAWS a modest fee is charged. Please visit our Classroom Program Offerings for current fees.

Please let us know if cost is a concern for you. By prearrangement, program fee may be partially or fully substituted with a donation of money or supplies to help us care for the animals at PAWS. We may also be able to provide sponsorships for high-need schools.

What if I need to cancel the program I requested?

For fee based classes, fees are non-refundable. Materials are purchased in advance based on registered participants. If you need to change a scheduled program, please give us at least one week’s notice.

Are live animals used in PAWS Education Programs?

For health and safety reasons, shelter dogs and cats at PAWS are not involved in most of our group and classroom programs. PAWS does not keep any live wild animals in captivity for educational purposes. If you are interested in interacting with cats and/or dogs, indicate that in your program request.

What state standards do these programs meet?

PAWS’ programs bring community leaders into the classroom, broaden career horizons for students and meet character education mandates and Washington science standards. For more information about which standards PAWS' programs meet, please contact us at education@paws.org or 425-787-2500 x257.
