Program FAQs

What times are PAWS education programs available?

Most programs are generally available Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Registration is handled on a first come, first served basis. Our programs often fill three to six months in advance, so please plan ahead when scheduling your class or group.

Does PAWS charge fees for education programs?

For most education programs at PAWS a modest fee is charged. For more information please email or call 425.412.4026.

Organizing a donation drive for items on our wish list is also a great way to support PAWS and put humane education lessons into action. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Upon completion of free scheduled program(s) you will be sent a PAWS Humane Education Program donation request form, showing you our costs to provide these programs to your group. We have found this form makes it easier for participants to solicit support from their school or organization for the programs delivered.

What if I need to cancel the program I requested?

For fee based classes, fees are non-refundable. Materials are purchased in advance based on registered participants. If your child is unable to attend the session, you have the option to reschedule to a later available class.

Does PAWS bring wild animals to education programs?

For health and safety reasons, shelter dogs and cats at PAWS are not involved in most of our group and classroom programs. PAWS does not keep any live wild animals in captivity for educational purposes. If you are interested in interacting with cats and/or dogs, indicate that in your program request.

What state standards do these programs meet?

PAWS’ programs bring community leaders into the classroom, broaden career horizons for students and meet character education mandates and Washington science standards. For more information about which standards PAWS' programs meet, view the PAWS Education Programs Standards Alignment.
