Handy Helper, Companion Animal Services

Do you want to help the animals at PAWS but not work directly with them? Are you handy with a hammer, saw or paint brush? Then PAWS needs you!

Duties Include: Repair and maintenance of animal housing and other facilities including painting, construction, minor plumbing and electrical work, and trail maintenance. 

Dates Available: Year-round

Shifts: The Companion Animal Shelter Facility Caretaker works with volunteers to determine schedulling.

Time Commitment: As needed

Location: PAWS Companion Animal Shelter, Lynnwood

Training Required: All Companion Animal Shelter Handy Helpers are required to attend:

  • A volunteer orientation
  • Other training given on the job as needed

Current Short Term Projects

Requirement: Basic mechanical/construction skills

1) Indoor: Animal Grooming Station—F.R.P. sheeting installation. 

2) Indoor/Outdoor: Door PaintingAbout 15 doors need a re-paint, best job for 1-3 people.
