Animal Adoption Photographers

Position description: Each week more than 17,000 potential adopters look for pets on PAWS' website. Animal Adoption Photographers maintain the online list of animals available for adoption by uploading digital photos taken of the animals at PAWS.

Volunteers must have good computer skills and a working knowledge of digital photography. They must also practice safe animal handling per PAWS protocols.

Duties include: socializing, visiting, and comforting the animals; taking photos of the animals for adoption, cropping and adjusting pictures for optimal viewing, uploading photos to the website according to PAWS policies and procedures; uploading information from home or on a computer at PAWS.

This position has some animal contact.

Dates Available: year-round

Shifts:
Any three-hour shift between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

Time commitment:
Once a week for three hours for a minimum of three months.

Location: PAWS Companion Animal Shelter, Lynnwood WA 

Training required: Animal Adoption Photographers are required to attend:

  • A volunteer orientation.
  • A one to two-hour skills training.
