In addition to providing shelter and adoption for homeless cats and dogs, PAWS Companion Animal Shelter also provides other services for pets and the people who care for them. We offer:
- Low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for low-income households.
- Help with feral cats.
- Free pet behavior help.
- Information on obtaining ID tags and licenses for your pet.
PAWS is unable to provide pet sitting, dog training or help with veterinary bills, however we do have tips for selecting qualified professionals and provide links to further resources that may be able to help:
Service and Therapy Animals
Thank you for considering one of the cats and dogs in our care that are available for adoption as companion animals. If you are looking for a service/therapy/emotional support animal, please note that we do not assess an animal’s suitability for becoming a service/therapy/emotional support animal, and are not able to assist with or provide the training for such certification. We ask you to consider prior to adoption, if you will be able to keep the cat or dog if they fail to meet that need or are unsuccessful in the training.
If you’re looking to adopt a service/therapy/emotional support animal, there are a number of organizations in Washington State and beyond who offer these services and/or training. Please download our Service Dog Resources information sheet for guidance and contact details of organizations who can help.
