Humane Lobby Day 2011

Humane Lobby Day 2011 and next steps

Despite concerns of snow and traffic, 2011 Humane Lobby Day in February, was the most successful to date with more than 50 active participants. View PAWS' 2011 Humane Lobby Day blog post for more details, including a surprising turnout by some fourth-grade animal advocates.

Four ways to stay active for animals in 2011, and beyond:

  1. Stay in the loop on issues impacting animals in 2011 and beyond—sign up PAWS' Actionline e-newsletter.
  2. As the 2011 Washington State legislative session winds down, make sure your legislators know you want animal issues to be one of their priorities in 2012:
  3. Review 2011 legislation PAWS followed (Coming soon: 2011 legislative wrap-up.) Plan on getting in on the action in 2012. Join us at next year’s Humane Lobby Day to support legislation that improves the lives of animals throughout the state. Washington State operates on a two-year biennium cycle so bills that didn't pass in 2011 carry over into 2012.
  4. Review past alerts and take action.
