Each year on the last Tuesday in February you can spay or neuter your companion animal at a discounted rate through the national Spay Day campaign. PAWS, along with shelter partners N.O.A.H., Everett Animal Services, Homeward Pet Adoption Center, Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation and the Humane Society for Skagit Valley—and local veterinary clinics in Snohomish, Island, King, Skagit and Whatcom counties offer low-cost spay and neuter surgeries.
During Spay Day 2010, PAWS and our shelter partners and clinics performed 354 surgeries! PAWS Spay/Neuter Clinic performed 37 surgeries on cats and dogs and N.O.A.H. Spay/Neuter Clinic spayed and neutered 50 cats! Homeward Pet Adoption Center and Everett Animal Shelter’s newly opened public clinics performed 17 surgeries.
The private veterinary clinics made a huge difference by offering clients easy access across five counties. In King County, Greenwood Animal Hospital is a newcomer to our Spay Day efforts with 35 surgeries their first year. Historically Broadway Animal Hospital in Everett has been a Spay Day leader in Snohomish County and this year was no different as they performed 31 surgeries for clients. In Island County, Useless Bay Animal Clinic and Penn Cove Vet Clinic accomplished 26 surgeries. In Skagit County, seven private clinics made a dent in this year’s kitten season by doing 25 surgeries.
Spay Day is open to anyone, regardless of income level, who wants to have their dog, cat, puppy or kitten spayed or neutered. Not only does spaying and neutering prevent unwanted and unexpected litters, but it also helps our animal friends live longer, healthier lives. If you pet is already fixed, please encourage friends and family to do the same for their animals. Share with them the truth about spaying and neutering.

We thank all of the veterinary clinics and shelters who partnered with PAWS during Spay Day 2010, and who provide assistance to animals in need throughout the year. Below are the participating private clincs for 2010.
