2. How will PAWS use my donation?

PAWS uses all proceeds from PAWSwalk to fulfill our mission to advocate for animals through education, legislation and direct care. Your support will provide care, feeding and shelter for thousands of animals this year, as well as education and advocacy on their behalf. For more information about our programs, visit paws.org.

3. Will my name or my donors' names be sold or shared to other organizations?

No. PAWS never releases its mailing list to any other groups or businesses.

4. Do I have to have a dog to participate?

No. Many walkers participate to honor their other companion animals, for wildlife, or to promote the peaceful and healthy co-existence between humans and animals.

If you do wish to bring your dog, he or she must wear a collar and ID tag and be on leash at all times. For safety reasons, please do not bring dogs in any stage of heat, puppies under four months of age, or any non-canine companion animals. And remember, stoop and scoop, don't bend and pretend!

5. What if it rains on the day of the event?

If it rains, bring your umbrella and rain boots! PAWSwalk will take place as scheduled, rain or shine. Remember, the animals need our help, even if we get a little damp.

6. I can't make it to the event. Can I still help raise funds for animals?

Of course! We welcome all supporters. When you register, select "Web Walker" and join the many other dedicated individuals who are making a difference even though they can't attend the event. You will still have all the same online fundraising tools available to other walkers, and any offline checks you collect can be mailed ahead of time (with your name in the memo line) to: PAWSwalk, PO Box 1037, Lynnwood, WA 98046. Download a printable pledge sheet.

7. Do you need volunteer help at PAWSwalk?

We have all the volunteer help we will need for this year's event, but please join us at the park and register as a participant starting at 8 a.m. to join in the fun!

Thank you for your help in making this important event a success!

Website Information and Troubleshooting

1. Why should I use this website? Can I use a printed pledge form and collect checks and cash?

PAWS encourages all PAWSwalk participants to use this website because online registrations and donations are processed efficiently and quickly, meaning that more of your donations go to help the animals. In addition, once you are registered, you will be able to access many online fundraising tools, including e-mail templates that will allow you to send messages to your contacts asking for support or thanking them for their contributions, and a separate page where you can track your progress.

While the online fundraising tools are helpful, PAWS recognizes that not everyone has access to the Internet or is comfortable using the Web. As an alternative, please call us at 425.787.2500 X833 to register over the phone.

The same is true for collecting pledges - checks and cash can be collected using a printable pledge sheet and turned in the day of the event. Any check donations can also be mailed ahead of time (with your name in the memo line) to: PAWSwalk, PO Box 1037, Lynnwood, WA 98046. Please do not mail cash.

2. I forgot my username and password. How can I get them again?

Go to the Login page. Under the 'Forgot your e-mail' section, enter the e-mail address you used to register initially and you will receive an e-mail with your username and password. Also, remember that your username and password are case sensitive. If you still need help, please contact a PAWSwalk team member at 425.787.2500 x833 or pawswalk@paws.org.

3. Is this website secure?

Yes. PAWS and GiftTool have made every effort to protect your information. We use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet.

4. Who is GiftTool?

GiftTool is a Web-based fundraising service provider. PAWS contracts with GiftTool to host PAWSwalk.net and to process online credit card donations.

5. Can my friends and family donate to my PAWSwalk fundraising efforts by going to the main PAWSwalk.net website or do they need the long address that links to my personal fundraising page?

Your contacts do not need the long direct Web address to donate to you as they can access your personal fundraising page through the main PAWSwalk.net website. On the home page, friends and family can locate you by clicking on the Sponsor a Participant button. By typing in all or part of your name, they will be directed to your personal fundraising page.

6. Why is the "Sponsor a Participant" search not finding a participant that I know has registered?

If you have a problem locating a participant that you are sure has registered, please contact the PAWSwalk team at 425.787.2500 x833 or pawswalk@paws.org.

7. How can I see which of my contacts have made a donation?

Click the Login menu option on main PAWSwalk.net homepage. Use the username and password you entered when you registered for the event. Once you are logged into your profile, click on the "My Progress" tab to see who has made a donation and what pledges you have recorded. You can also send thank you e-mails here. Online donations show up immediately on your personal fundraising page, and offline donations (checks or cash) will show up as soon as PAWS has received them and processed the payments.
