A Few Special Thank You's to Our Friends

Lynn Paquette for transporting animals into PAWS from other shelters when they are full. Her volunteer efforts truly give these animals a second chance.

Photographer Bev Sparks for again donating her time to capture amazing images for the 2009 PAWS Calendar.

Duane Schaaf and America Olsen-Schaaf for raising more than $3,000 through their annual private benefit auction to help our feline friends at PAWS Cat City.

Vivian Bennett for donating new blinds for PAWS Companion Animal Shelter, and to Mark Beard of Beard's Window Coverings for giving us a major discount.

Elizabeth Nordeen, a second-year veterinary student at Washington State University, for donating her time and talent at PAWS' spay/neuter clinic during her summer break.

Shoreline Central Market, Tofurky and Essential Bakery for donating delicious vegan food for our Annual General Meeting.

Scott Lockhart of SonoSite and Guy Hammond of VetImaging.com for assisting with the diagnosis of a Harbor Seal in our care. The diagnosis will ensure we can provide him with proper treatment during rehabilitation.

Mike Shafer and his friends from the Navy and Maryse O'Neill and her Microsoft coworkers for volunteering a total of 112 hours helping with maintenance during United Way's Day of Caring.

Community members Steve and Pam Thuston who spotted a Barn Owl entangled in a tree in Puyallup. They, along with the amazing crew from Central Pierce Fire and Rescue, rescued the owl, which was then brought to PAWS for successful rehabilitation.

Ten-year-old Callie Anne Lewis for writing our Pet of the Week posts for paws.org this summer, helping us find homeless dogs and cats loving homes.

Jay Lazerwitz for his time and skill in creating the architectural drawings that guided our shelter lobby remodel, which improved our ability to meet and assist potential adopters.

Community advocate Marie Zervantian for taking photos for PAWS at the Take Action For Animals conference held in Washington D.C. and helping us illustrate what PAWS does to advocate on behalf of animals.

Penny LeGate for being PAWSwalk's fabulous and energetic grand marshal for 16 years.

Scott Engelhardt, Dawn Freeman, Jeffrey Luke and Danielle Morrow for photographing hundreds of happy dogs and their people at PAWSwalk 2008.
