From the heart

Photo of PAWS Executive Director - Annette LaicoDear Friends,

As we approach the end of PAWS' 40th anniversary year, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Our life-saving work for animals is inspired by you, and by every one who is a member of the PAWS family. Moreover, the philanthropic support of the community sustains our daily operations: keeping hundreds of hungry animals like Harbor Seal pups well-fed; vaccinating litters of abandoned kittens and puppies; purchasing craft supplies for Kids Who Care workshops for fourth graders; training future veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitators; and spaying or neutering formerly homeless cats and dogs before they set off to join their new forever families. Your gift of love literally saves lives, every single day. My heartfelt thanks for everything you do for the animals in our care, and all those for whom we advocate.

In October, we were thrilled to receive news of a very special honor. Thanks to the viewers of Seattle's KING 5 Evening Magazine, PAWS was voted Best Animal Rescue Organization of Western Washington! On October 8 and 13, our work was highlighted on the program, which featured our Wildlife Veterinarian, Dr. John Huckabee, as well as some of the raptors, orphaned fawns and baby seals in our care. View the Evening Magazine clip.

Also, before you plan your holiday shopping list, please check our website for a wealth of gift possibilities: stylish apparel, fun accessories, and gift memberships, to name just a few. I guarantee there is something for everyone on your list, and of course, all proceeds help the animals at PAWS.

Happy holidays from everyone at PAWS, and here's to the next 40 years!

Annette Laico
Executive Director
