Classes & Workshops

Most programs are generally available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Registration is handled on a first come, first served basis. Our programs often fill three to six months in advance, so please plan ahead when scheduling your class or group.

For most humane education programs at PAWS a small fee is charged. Please ask a PAWS' humane educator when requesting a program for the exact amount. We greatly appreciate monetary donations to help us continue to offer humane education programs.

Organizing a donation drive for items on our wish list is also a great way to support PAWS and put humane education lessons into action. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Upon completion of free scheduled program(s) you will be sent a PAWS Humane Education Program donation request form, showing you our costs to provide these programs to your group. We have found this form makes it easier for participants to solicit support from their school or organization for the programs delivered.

Cancellation policy

For fee based classes, fees are non-refundable. Materials are purchased in advance based on registered participants. If your child is unable to attend the session, you have the option to reschedule to a later available class.

Program etiquette

PAWS' Presentation. The organizer, or person scheduling the program(s), should be the teacher or group leader who will be present and responsible for the students at the time of the program(s). Once a program is scheduled, confirmation will be sent by e-mail or postal mail, depending upon the organizer's preference.

It is the organizer's responsibility to ensure that all participants are prepared for the program(s). Failure to provide the required assistance may result in the termination of the scheduled program(s). To help us continue to improve our programs we also request that the organizer complete an evaluation form at the end of each course.

Live animals

For health and safety reasons, shelter dogs and cats at PAWS are not involved in most of our group and classroom programs. PAWS does not keep any live wild animals in captivity for educational purposes. If you are interested in interacting with cats and/or dogs, indicate that in your program request.
