Wildlife Facility Caretaker Assistant

Position description: Duties include painting, building and repairing caging units, clearing brush, cleaning and maintenance of wildlife facilities, minor plumbing, and electrical work. Tasks involve learning about caging needs of Washington's wildlife as well as on-the-job training in construction skills.

Dates Available: Year-round

Shifts: Wednesday through Saturday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Volunteers are scheduled to work the same shift every week.

Time commitment: A weekly shift of four hours for a minimum of three months.

Location: PAWS Wildlife Center, Lynnwood, WA

Training required: Wildlife Facility Caretaker Assistants are required to attend:

• A volunteer orientation.
• A three-hour Wildlife Ethics Workshop within their first three months of volunteering.
• Other training is given on-the-job as the need arises.
