It Was Meant to Be

Sometimes it takes a few attempts to find the right home for an animal, but we keep on trying. Such was the situation with Dimple. When she first came to PAWS as a young puppy she was quickly adopted. However, when Dimple was returned

to PAWS a few years later as a bigger adult dog, she didn't attract the same attention. She waited and waited for just the right match to come along. Luckily, Mark Sherard and Michael Rose were looking for a new addition to their family which included their seven-year old dog, Max. They felt Dimple would be a good choice, and Mark reports, "Dimple has fit into our family without skipping a beat. She has been great. She has brought life back into Max that he needed." Dimple now spends her days camping, playing with her new brother, and relishing the love that comes from a home where we believe she was always meant to be.

Four Fab Felines

The deeper we get into the summer months, the more kittens we see filling our cages. This usually means older cats may have a longer stay with PAWS, often overlooked in favor of irresistibly spunky kittens. However, in the case of Spice, Neo, Stanley, and Martha this troubling trend was joyfully bucked. These middle-aged felines first arrived at the Everett Animal Shelter after their guardian passed away, but were soon transferred to PAWS. An amazing three days later, Neo, the oldest of the group at 10 years old, was adopted. After a short 10-day stretch, Spice, too, was scooped up, and Stanley and Martha followed soon after. In just two weeks, all four cats were given a second chance, reminding us that there are many wonderful people willing to open their hearts and homes to older animals in need.
