Kirkland's City Pets is one more success story for the offsite program

Kirkland’s City Pets has adopted out well over 50 PAWS cats as part of the PAWS offsite cat adoption program, helping to make the program an unqualified success.

The offsite adoption program was started about two years ago as a way to increase the public exposure of our adoptable cats. "It great," says Denise Kuhn, PAWS’ Offsite Program Coordinator, "because people in their own neighborhoods can adopt PAWS cats from their local pet supply stores."

Currently there are 14 offsite facilities with PAWS cats. As part of the program, each facility agrees to keep two to four PAWS cats on the premises, and then adopts these cats out using standard PAWS adoption policies. Since the program began, PAWS has adopted out over 500 cats from offsite facilities.

Kuhn says that the folks at City Pets have been a joy to work with, especially Ernie Greene. "Ernie is just super," says Kuhn. He is always there for the animals. He has a great way with the animals and the folks adopting them. He is just a great adoption counselor."
