Squachi - September 2008

My lil Squachi was the apple of my eye. She was a polydactyl (extra toes) cat whose front paws were bigger that her grandmas, her little mamma and her big brothers and that was the reason I called her Squachi, which was short for Sasquach. She sounded like a little Harley Davidson when she purred, and she had her own unique way of waking me up to let me know she wanted food by taking her big paw and gently tapping my nose. When it came to her nap time she would lay on her back at times with all four paws up, and it did not take long for her big brother to sleep the same way, because before Squachi was born he never slept that way. She loved to eat her food, and she was like a baby at feeding time. When the food hit that dish she was always the first one there. She would lick her chops for so long after eating, and it was so cute the way she would look up at me with her precious little face.

The toy of her choice was a laser pointer. Whenever I would hold the pointer in my hand she would sit right in front of me as her ears would wiggle and her big brown eyes would look up at me just waiting for me to press the button for the little red dot that she could never seem to catch.

When she died I lost a piece of my heart and life just seems so empty without her. I will never understand why she was taken from me so soon, but I do know that the 5 ½ years that she was in my life will be forever in my heart and my soul.

I love my lil Squachi and I will never, ever, ever forget you!!
