In memory of Misty - August 2005
We adopted an abused and neglected kitten 10 years ago. She was skinny, bones sticking out everywhere, weak and starved. She was about 6 months at the time but was the size of a 2 month old. We were told to feed her whatever she wanted to get her strength up. Her favourite foods were perogies (with sour cream) and cabbage rolls - how we discovered this, don't ask. She loved to cuddle and would snuggle into anyone who had a space beside them and if no space just flopped on you. She would lay on my husband's legs as long as he had jeans on and would push paper away if he happened to be reading. When he was out of town she would search out a pair of jeans and adjust them to accommodate herself, when he came home from a job she would root through his suitcase until she found his jeans and then lay on them.
We had to euthenize her on Thursday as she had an incurable and untreatable kidney dicease. My husband and I went in with her and it was such a peaceful and painless death. We brought her home to bury her under our tree in the back of our yard. She was a wonderful cat and I think she knew she had a good home and was well loved. We have another kitten who is about a year old now and she knows something is up and that her buddy is no longer around. Thank you for giving of the opportunity of having such a wonderful pet.
