Hannah

Dear PAWS,
I adopted Hannah from PAWS in
July of 1997 when she was a tiny 8 week old puppy and
I was about to graduate from college. She was of
unknown origin or parentage - apparently she had been
left on your doorstep in a box with her sisters. She
has turned out to be the best thing that ever happened
to me.
This month, Hannah turns eight years old, and in July
we will celebrate 8 years together. She grew up into
a beautiful, wonderful dog; maybe part border collie,
who knows? She got me through law school, moving to
California and back and then back to California again,
and saw me through some rough times. I can't thank
you enough for allowing me and Hannah to be together.
She is the smartest, happiest, most loyal, amazing dog
on the planet.

Hannah has always been tremendously healthy except for
one thing: hip dysplasia. For most of her life it has
not slowed her down one bit, but recently she has been
showing signs of pain and stiffness. Undaunted,
Hannah and I are preparing for total hip replacement
surgery, which has a great chance of giving her an
even longer, less painful life.
Now we live together in Oakland, California. Even
though she is starting to slow down in her old(er)
age, Hannah greets every day with her characteristic
glee. It's like she wakes up every morning and says,
"Another day?? No way!!"
I couldn't imagine my life without her. Thanks again.
Liza and Hannah
