PAWS: Animal Tales

Freddy

We got Freddy (aka Vinnie) from your Lynnwood PAWS back in February 2005. He is a standard dachshund, black dapple and he didn’t like men and was very scared when we met him. He was about 18 months old and the best behaved dog we had ever seen. We believe that he was at one time in an abusive home. We believe the man was abusive to his wife/friend. He is doing great. He loves our new home. We have moved since we got Freddy and he really likes it here. He likes my husband and my stepson but he still isn’t sure about my son who is 19.

He barks at him every time he sees him. He loves my daughter and has adopted himself to her. He follows her everywhere she goes, she is 14. He sleeps in her room and he is bored when she isn’t here. He also walks around and looks for things to get into when he is bored. The first couple of weeks all he did was hide under any bed he could find. I guess he was just checking all of us out to see if he could trust us. He didn’t like going in the car when we first got him because we believe he was afraid we would get rid of him. Now he loves to travel in the car. We are glad to have him in our family and we have learned that he will not run away if not on a leash as we were told. We also believe he didn’t like or trust the people he was with and was trying to get away.
