PAWSwalk is our largest and most visible fundraiser of the year. After three months of on-line fundraising by individuals and teams, 1,200 humans and 1,000 dogs gather for a fun 3k walk in the park and celebration.
Several dozen animal-friendly exhibitors will also be on hand with merchandise to sell, free samples, and useful information. There is a beer and mimosa garden—Pours for PAWS—a variety of vegetarian/vegan food trucks, a kids’ zone, puppies and dogs for adoption, games and prizes, dog agility and training courses, and much, much more.
When: Saturday, August 29, 2015
Time commitment: 3-4 hour shift
Positions available: You can choose from a variety of positions including set up, walker registration, directing crowds, staffing water stations along the trail, assisting with the photo booth and contests, cheerleading along the route, staffing the Information booth and Volunteer tent, clean-up, and more.
Training: Some PAWSwalk event positions require one hour of training a week before the event. Other positions are trained at the event.
Refreshments and Rest Area: Volunteers will have a dedicated shaded area to sit and rest during breaks. Coffee, juice and water will be provided, along with donuts and other snack items.
Volunteer T-shirt: Volunteers are provided with a free event t-shirt to wear during their shift. A private changing area is provided.
It takes 150 volunteers to pull off this event, so come join in the fun knowing that all PAWSwalk proceeds will help the thousands of orphaned, sick and injured cats, dogs and wild animals that PAWS will care for this year.
