Thanks to Spay Day they won't multiple like rabbits anymore!
On Spay Day 2008, PAWS and participating veterinary clinics in Snohomish, Island and Skagit counties offered low-cost spay and neuter surgeries in an effort to help end the suffering caused by unwanted and homeless animals in our community, by preventing unplanned litters. Citizens who took advantage of this annual tri-county event recognized that spaying and neutering is good for the community and a great way to help our animal friends' live longer, healthier lives.
A total of 221 cats and 46 dogs were altered thanks to the efforts of PAWS, its shelter partners---The Noah Center, Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation (WAIF), Everett Animal Services, the Humane Society for Skagit Valley and Homeward Pet Adoption Center ---and 26 local veterinary clinics. That's a total of 267 low-cost spay and neuter surgeries!
Their efforts saved thousands of lives by preventing unwanted litters of kittens and puppies from being born. To thank them for their commitment to making our community a more humane one, PAWS encourages you to consider patronizing the participating clinics for your animal's veterinary needs. Please see the list of participating clinics below.
A "special thanks" to the following private clinics that performed the most surgeries:
Snohomish County: Broadway Animal Hospital and Value Veterinary Animal Clinic Island County: Useless Bay Animal Hospital and Best Friends Veterinary Center Skagit County: Sedro Woolley Veterinary Care and Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic
It's not too late to do your part to help end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals by having your companion dog or cat altered today. See a list of year-round low-cost spay/neuter clinics. Check this page in January 2009 to learn about Spay Day 2009.
