In Memory of Camille

All who share their lives with animals understand the extraordinary bond: the friendship, the laughter, the daily “pet therapy.” But time with our animals can be fleeting. PAWS volunteer Dorothy Darrow and her husband David recently said goodbye to their beloved dog Camille. Dorothy fell for Camille’s red silky coat and affectionate demeanor, and took her home on Valentine’s Day. Tragically, months later Camille was diagnosed with lymphoma. Given just a few months to live, she courageously held on to life for a year and a half.

Join us in celebrating a life too short, but well lived. And loved.

Camille never failed to elicit a smile. She drew remarks from, "Now there's a happy girl," to, "There's some Dr. Seuss in that dog."

We'll remember and smile at her endless quest for squirrels... her "protecto" dog mode where she saved us from dangers - real and imagined.

One of the sweetest souls to have walked this earth, we cherish the happiness she blessed us with.

Hopefully she will inspire others to save an animal who has been through a rough opatch but deserves more.
