Controlled Energy Corporation (CEC) for their generous donation of two gas constant use water heaters for the wildlife building and four under counter electric units for PAWS. The highly efficient space-saving gas units were installed in the wildlife building, replacing wasteful, space hogging cylinders. The new units not only give us more room, but also can save substantially on our water-heating bill. As well, one of the units is fitted with dial up temperature setting, a great feature when we are washing contaminated birds from spills and toxic events.

All those who helped at PAWS Presents, from PAWS volunteers and board to the business and individuals who donated auction items, QFC for the wine, Regina’s Flower Escape and PetDaddy for the floral centerpieces, Endangered Species Chocolate Company for the decadent chocolate bars, Bob Watt, auctioneer extraordinaire, and Roger Fouts for sharing his time, commitment and passion.

Ken Stendera of Stend-Air Mechanical Services for installing and repairing two furnace units in the main shelter, and giving PAWS asignificant discount for the professional work.

Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub in Ballard for hosting our 4th Benefit Pub Night, which raised $1,475 for wildlife care at PAWS. Special thanks go out to Tracey and Finbar Woods, (Molly’s owners), The Raybone Experience and Klondike 5 (for donating the evening’s music), Jenny Schlieps (PAWS Wildlife staff), and to Chef Ron Anderson, at Molly Maguires, for delicious vegetarian appetizers.

Dr. Pam Broussard, our volunteer wildlife veterinarian, for her continued assistance as a volunteer veterinarian filling in for Dr Darlene DeGhetto who has been off on maternity leave.

University of Washington students for spending Martin Luther King Jr. day at the Wildlife Center working on outdoor projects. The students moved earth and gravel for the new raccoon cages and concrete pool area.

Chuck Egolf of Brier, for coming out to the Wildlife Center and using his loader to move earth and gravel for the new concreted yard for ducks cages, and the bases for the new raccoon cages, that will be finished this spring.

PAWS Volunteers Katherine Cooley, Kristen Carlson, Hannah Evergreen, Denise Goldstein, Jim Green, Arla Guy, Betty and Victor Klouzal, Jean Ludwig, Christina Monson, Sally Noble, Jerry Parker, Paul and Liz Phillips, Shirley Rose, Misty Sundman, Lorraine Tyrrell, Sandy Warner, and Jeremy York, for helping count, stuff, and sort our Tracks Card direct mail piece. This fundraising project utilized note cards donated to PAWS in years past and with the help of the volunteers raised $40,000 to date.
