Art Wolfe inspires all

Animals were center stage at the PAWS benefit March 13th at the Madison Renaissance Hotel in downtown Seattle. The event raised about $60,000 in support of PAWS' work.

Guests were treated to an animal-friendly dinner, a live auction, and the inspiring words and images of Art Wolfe, renowned wildlife photographer and author.

Wolfe takes a turn on the other side of the lens. He later captivated the crowd with a photographic journey depicting the three years he spent traveling the globe shooting for his book, The Living Wild.

A guest, one of 170 in the room, enjoys a conversation during dinner.

Volunteer Jim Keller, modeling a leopard costume hand-crafted and donated to the auction by PAWS volunteer Berta Nicol-Blades, shares the talents of pet photographer Bev Sparks, who donated a photo session to the auction.

PAWS supporter Gail Davis is jubilant after winning a bid.

Steve Weaver, master of ceremonies and vice president of the PAWS Board of Directors, takes a turn at the mic.

PAWS volunteer Wendy Ludlow (left) and Executive Director Annette Laico join in a humorous moment at the end of the evening.

Volunteer auctioneer Bob Watt in action. The auction raised $36,000 in just 40 minutes, with 13 donated items and experiences and a fund-a-need portion that inspired $21,000 for the care of baby animals this season, with most of the room taking part in the bidding.
