Happy Endings
Siamese cats are known to be extremely talkative, and Hanna Chan certainly lived up to this reputation. This beautiful Siamese mix came to the shelter during one of PAWS’ busiest months and immediately made her presence known by speaking loudly and continuously to anyone visiting the cat room.
Because Hanna Chan seemed to enjoy people and activity so much, she was transferred to PAWS Cat City adoption center in Greenwood. It was during her stay there that a woman arrived with her seeing-eye dog. Although legally blind, she was ready to integrate a cat into her household.
Cat City Supervisor, Zibby Wilder, began describing the various cats available for adoption, and of course, Hanna Chan caught the adopter’s attention with her persistent and insistent voice! So, a test was performed to be sure that the seeing-eye dog and Hanna would get along in this unique household. After a successful introduction, it was decided that this was a perfect match, for surely Hanna’s desire to talk and announce her presence would help her new guardian know where she was at all times without having to see her!
My son William and I adopted a Malamute mix from PAWS this summer. His name was Runner. I wanted to let you know he has worked out wonderfully. He is a great hiker, and we know now why he was named Runner! When he is happy and running he can go REALLY fast, and his tail wags and wags. He is a gentle and affectionate animal. Thanks!
