Pet Pros stores are critical to the success of the Offsite Program

Lynnwood, Lake City and Edmonds Pet Pros have been with the PAWS Adoption Partnership Program since its inception in early 1997. Over the past two years, these pet supply stores have helped adopt out hundreds of PAWS cats and kittens.

Laurie Spanier, the manager at Pet Pros Edmonds, has loved being involved in the program. "Having PAWS cats in our store is a rewarding experience," says Spanier. "The off-site program is an asset to our community and to our business."

Beyond adopting out PAWS cats and kittens, the Pet Pros stores and other off-site facilities increase awareness of cat and dog overpopulation. The harsh reality of overpopulation is apparent at any shelter. The PAWS shelter can hold only so many cats and the off-site partner facilities serve as a great outlet for the overabundance of felines the shelter sees year-round.

Questions or comments on the off-site program can be directed to Denise Kuhn, PAWS off-site adoption coordinator at (425) 787-2500 ext. 254 or denise@paws.org.
