2nd Puppy Store Protest
Date: Saturday, January 22nd, 2005
Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Location: Absolutely Puppies Pet Store, 805 111 Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004
December's protest at the Absolutely Puppies store in Bellevue went well and received good media coverage. There will be a follow up protest to educate the public on the reality of pet store animals and their origin in deplorable puppy mills. We also want to send the message that it is highly irresponsible to buy pet store animals while there are millions of shelter animals who desperately need homes.
Please join other activists and animal lovers as we keep the pressure on Absolutely Puppies (AP) and ask their customers not to buy while shelter animals die.
History:
For the past year Action for Animals (AFA) has been investigating Absolutely Puppies (AP). They have reports from several people that AP has sold sick puppies, including puppies with the highly contagious Parvovirus. Parvo can lead to "sudden" death. Due to AP's secrecy with regards to the origin of the puppies they sell, it is believed AP may be buying from puppy mills.
Follow-up on Glue Traps
Thank you to everyone who wrote to your local city and/or county council regarding banning the use of cruel glue traps. We've received a lot of feedback on the issue and are hoping to hear back on the possibility of public hearings in the near future. Keep up the great work- together we can make this change happen!
