Celebrate the Great American Meatout on March 20th, 2004
Saturday, March 20th marks the 20th annual Great American Meatout. Meatout is internationally observed, and encourages people to kick the meat habit for at least a day. An additional goal of Meatout is to raise awareness about the joys and benefits of an animal-friendly diet, and to promote the wide array and availability of meat and dairy alternatives in mainstream grocery stores, restaurants, and catering operations.

Once again, PAWS will team up with the Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN) to prepare and distribute vegan lunches in honor of Meatout. This event always proves to be great fun, and the positive responses we invariably receive from the public are rewarding. Please join us in making Meatout 2004 a success!

Meatout Sandwich Making Party
When: Friday, March 19th, 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Where: Field Roast "factory", 1225 South Angelo St. (Georgetown)

We will need lots of help putting together the delicious vegan sandwiches that we will be giving away the next day to hungry lunch-goers at Westlake Center!

Meatout Vegan Lunch Giveaway
When: Saturday, March 20th, noon - till the lunches are gone (they’re usually gone in less than an hour!)
Where: TBA

If you can help with either or both of these events, please contact Jennifer Hillman, (425) 742-4009, ext. 259, or jenniferh@paws.org.

Vegfest only two weeks away! Volunteers Needed!
Sponsored by Vegetarians of Washington (www.vegofwa.org), Vegfest is the Northwest’s largest vegetarian food festival. Vegfest is a great way to help people discover the many benefits of a vegetarian diet, and is another fun volunteer opportunity. This year's event will be bigger than ever, with more chefs, books and food to sample.

Vegetarians of WA will be giving away free t-shirts and admission to volunteers who work for at least 4 hours.

Volunteer cashiers and greeters are needed, as well as people to serve food samples, and to help with setting up and packing up. There are even volunteer jobs that families can do together. Volunteers are especially needed on Sunday.

When: Saturday and Sunday, March 27th and 28th, 9:00am - 6:00pm
Where: Seattle Center, Fisher Pavilion

To sign up as a volunteer, please go to www.vegofwa.org/vegfest/volunteer.html as soon as possible and complete the volunteer form.
